He is an Afghan director and producer, born in 1972 in Kabul, Afghanistan. In 1986, he emigrated to Germany with his family. He produced numerous shorts, documentaries, and feature films, which were premiered at several festivals, such as the Berlin Independent Film Festival and the Hof International Film Festival. He is known for Luna's Revenge (2017), Stereo (2014), and The Turtle's Rage (2012). He has shared and won numerous awards and nominations, such as the Muhr Arab Award at the Dubai International Film Festival, the FWIFS Award at the Fort Worth Indie Film Showcase, and the US and Young German Cinema Award at the Munich Film Festival.
