A British singer, poet and actress, born in London in 1987. She studied music at the University of East London, and also trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. Her artistic debut came through the series Chewing Gum in 2015. She won a Tony Award for her performance in the play The Color Purple. She has co-starred in Chaos Walking, Widows, and Harriet, for which she was nominated for an Oscar.
