American actor born in Joplin, Missouri on 13 August 1909. After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania, he began his acting career on Broadway plays. He's known for Doctors Don't Tell (1941), Atlantic Convoy (1942), and The Firm (1993). He appeared in various TV series and movies from the late 1940s till the 1980s. He passed away on 26 April 1997 in Santa Cruz, California, at age 87.
