His real film career began in 1920 and he took on several roles in well-known silent films. His film career ended with the advent of sound films. He participated in the short film Eine Dirne ist ermordet worden (1930). After that, he dedicated himself to the theater again. He became a permanent member of the Deutsches Volkstheater in Vienna from 1907 to 1920. He died on November 26, 1935, in Vienna, Austria. He is known for The Hands of Orlac (1924) and Dracula's Death (1921).
