An American actor born in Pendleton, Indiana, USA on July 1, 1896 as William Franklin Walker. He died in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California, USA on January 27, 1992 of cancer. He married Canadian actress Peggy Cartwright (1959-1992), who remained with him until his death. His most important works are Hush..Hush Sweet Charlotte (1964), Tick, Tick, Tick (1970), Boy Who Caught a Crook (1961), and Big Jake (1971). He was an African American actor, World War I veteran, who started acting in 1946 with a career spanning 5 decades. He appeared in many films and TV shows, including TV Theatre. His first work was Lost City of the Jungle (1946), and his last work was the TV series Hunter (1987). He died at the age of 95.
