American musician, composer, and conductor born Benjamin Anselvitz on 30 May 1891 in New York City, New York, US. He attended NY College of Music, City College of New York, and the Columbia School of Mines. His music was featured in the soundtracks of works such as Money Monster (2016), The Counselor (2013), Sweet and Lowdown (1999), and Magic in the Moonlight (2014). He married twice and had one child. He died of pulmonary embolism on 20 October 1943 in Hollywood, California, US.
