A British director and screenwriter, born in 1921 in London, England, as Cyril Solomon Israel Frankel. He started his career working on documentaries in the late 1940s as well as some short films. He wrote and directed the movie Man of Africa (1953), which is considered one of his most successful and famous works, as it screened in several international festivals, most notably the Cannes Film Festival, where the movie was nominated for the Grand Prize of the Festival in 1954. He also directed several TV series, most notably The Avengers, Jason King, and Department S. He passed away in 2017 in England.
