He was the first Kuwaiti to direct a play in 1964, as he presented the play I Lived and I Saw, on December 20, 1964. He went on to direct 13 plays, the last of which was An Emperor Looking for a Job. In addition, he worked as an actor in the theater and on television. As a director, he participated in the Damascus Theater Festival in 1969 with the play Early Bird Gets the Worm. On December 8, 1975, he resigned from the troupe to complete his studies. He worked for two years as head of the Drama Department at Kuwait TV. He directed many television productions, most notably Stormy Night, The End of Silence, and They Hate Love. He died on November 9, 2001.
