Mariam Hassan to Participate in Sale Film Festival

Mariam Hassan, star of “Walad wa Bent” (“A Boy and a Girl”), is preparing to travel to the Moroccan city of Sale in the period between the 20th and the 25th of the current month of September. Mariam’s latest film will have an entry in the Sale film festival which will involve screenings for more than 35 films. The screenings will take place at the Hollywood Hall - which has the capacity to accommodate more than 1000 viewers - and at an open air theater. The festival will also include a contest for five prizes held between 12 feature-length films that were the brainchildren of women across the world. Alongside the screenings some of the other activities that will take place during the festival include sessions at which the films participating in the contest will be discussed, three daily seminars to discuss various cinema topics, a course on cinema and the signing of several agreements. The festival will host more than 300 participants that include in their ranks directors, actors, critics and journalists. The group also includes 100 foreign participants. In a related note, Mariam Hassan has asserted in a statement to “” that she is indeed glad to participate in the film festival especially as this represent a return to the festival arena after her previous film “45 Youm” (“45 Days”) featured at several film festivals. Mariam has also noted that she is perusing several screenplays at the moment with the intention of choosing one of them after her return from the festival. On her trip abroad, Mariam will also be joined by the film’s director Kareem Al A’dl and the screenwriter A’oula E’zz Al Deen.
