Samira Ahmed Decides to Nominate Herself for a Seat in the Egyptian Parliament

Actress Samira Ahmed has decided to nominate herself as a candidate for a seat in the next parliamentary elections as representative of the Qasr Al Nil area, adding that she will utilize the post in order to further womens’ interests and those of the artistic community.At a forum that was hosted alongside events to honor her at the Alexandria International Film Festival, Samira has stated that she looks forward to assuming the post and that her faith is bolstered by the vital role that women play in all of the development issues relevant to Egyptian society. Samira has also stated that she hopes there will be a greater set of wider encompassing dialogues to discuss the circumstances and living standards of women in Egypt and across the Arab World, furthermore she has also expressed her wish to present a new drama work that portrays the circumstances of street kids and the mechanisms that can be utilized to limit that problem.Samira Ahmed has asserted that what matters most to her is the presentation of a work that is characterized by value and succeeds in wooing audiences. She also added that she is not concerned about financial rewards but rather with the value of the work as art.Samira further added that talent, patience and a capable management are amongst the most important factors that contribute to success and the realization of goals adding that she began her career in obscurity but eventually reached leading roles. Furthermore, Samira has mentioned that she is pleased with what she has accomplished so far in the fields of cinema and television.
