Performer Ahmed Helmy has begun recording his latest radio series intended for airing in Ramadan 2011. In his latest work Helmy collaborates with the same team that he had worked with over the two previous years, namely screenwriter Magdy al-Kadash and director A’laa Khalf. Producer Sideeq Dahhy has refused to divulge any information about the new series and has announced that it is too early to release any details adding that that may affect the work’s marketing and promotion. The series is the third work that sees the collaboration of Ahmed Helmy, screenwriter Magdy al-Kadash and director A’laa Khalaf. The trio had presented “Itloubni men Baba” (“Ask My Father for My Hand”) in Ramadan 2009 on the “al-Sharq al-Awsat” network. That work also involved Hanan Tourk and Hassan Housny. The Ahmed-Magdy- A’laa trio also collaborated again to produce “Ya Ana ya Inta” (“Either You or Myself”) which aired in Ramadan 2010. That title also featured the talent of Mona Zakky. Worthy of note is that Helmy’s most recent cinematic title was the film “Bulbul Hayrran” (“Bulbul is Confused”) which utilized a screenplay authored by Khaled Diab and was directed by Khaled Mar’ee. Helmy is currently preparing to shoot another work with director Shereef A’rafeh. The work has been tentatively titled “X-Large” and is intended for release in the summer of 2011 so that it could compete with other titles being released in that season.
