Actress Samira Ahmed has stated that she is an elderly lady and cannot stand for long hours in order to demonstrate. For that reason the actress was unable to actively demonstrate alongside Egypt’s youth. However, Samira has stated that she is deeply moved by the events and is very proud of Egypt’s youths. Moreover she has added that she is proud that her daughter “Galila” was amongst the demonstrators who are making history with their actions. The esteemed actress has also added that the reforms promised by Mubarak in his address last Tuesday represent a preliminary step but are not at all sufficient. This is particularly so due to the fact that martyrs have sacrificed their lives and their sacrifices cannot go in vain. Shereen states that Mubarak should at least dissolve the phony parliament which is in place and assign a transitional government rather than the new government that he has assembled which is in fact the same as the previous government.
