Ghada ‘Adel to star in the first sitcom about the January Revolution

Actress Ghada ‘Adel will take part in the television series “Shubra TV”, the first production of the type to discuss the latest events witnessed in Egypt and the new found national liberty. The series is also Egypt’s first political sitcom.“Shubra TV” will relate the story of an attempt by youth in Shubra to launch a satellite network where they would talk about the historical relationship between people in Shubra from a while ago and up to the latest lapse of security.The screenplay for the series was authored by satirical writer ‘Amr Fahmy. The work is directed by Balal Nasr and produced by Mohamed Bandar. Ghada ‘Adel stars in the title which also features Haitham Mohamed, Medhat Teekha and Mohamed Nasr. The production will also include performances by a group of youths who took part in the revolution – their participation is intended to lend the work more credibility in the eye of the public.
