Artist Ahmed ‘Eid has announced that he is going back to work on the film “Yabany ‘ala Abooh” with director ‘Abd Al ‘Azeez Hashad after preparatory workshops for the film were halted about two months ago due to the events of the revolution of the 25th of January. At the filmmakers requests, the producing company has held quick sessions so that the director could choose the film’s remaining cast and specify filming locations so that filming could begin soon.‘Eid suggested that it would be important to integrate scenes from the revolution which he took part in. However director Hashad objected whereby he affirmed that the film is not political but is rather purely social in its focus as it centers on the idea that it is important to revert back to older standards and traditions. Thus the film argues that a return to tradition is preferred as everything has become phony and counterfeit – therein lies the value of the metaphor relating to Chinese and Japanese products. The film features the performance of a Japanese actress in her first acting experience.
