The decision comes after her daughter had threatened legal action if someone portrayed her or if her private life was referenced. In a telephone call to the “Sawt Libnan” (“Voice of Lebanon”) broadcast, Sabah asserted that the series will not include scandalous material and will not soil the reputation of anyone whether they be dead or alive. Rather the series will simply recount her life story with what it includes in terms of artistic, political and social events. Moreover Sabah has come to an understanding with the series’ screenwriter, Fidaa al-Shandawily, to omit all scenes relating to her daughter without compromising the screenplaySabah also added that her son’s stance was completely different as he has welcomed a portrayal of his character as long as it serves to clarify his mother’s life story. Sabah further mentioned that musician Fairouz has also requested that her character not be portrayed in the series because she would rather not get into any complications. Sabah has agreed to this and has respected her request, furthermore she has asked the screenwriter to omit anything referring to the life of Fairouz or her husband ‘Aasi al-Rahbani.
