Producer Sadek Al Sabah, script writer Fedaa El Shandawili and director Saad Hendawi together have completed the final touches in the series “Like the Flowers” that plays in 120 episodes. The episodes will be split in half, 60 of them will play during Ramadan 2012 and the remaining 60 will play after Ramadan so the final episode is during Ramadan 2013. In a statement that Al Sabah made to “Al Masry” newspaper, he explained the reason behind making such an abundance of episodes was his desire to make a quantum leap in the Egyptian television drama, so it can compete with its opponent the Turkish one, but with maintaining its Egyptian identity. Recently, the Turkish drama had gained much admiration from the Arab communities. The series stars more than 70 Arab and Egyptian actors, most of them are young people who have never been on television before. This is to provide the production with a unique approach and style. Some of the participants in the series are Youssef Al Sharif, Simone, Salah Abdulla, Lekaa Sewedan, Rahma and many more artists that will join the series at a later stage.
