Syrian actor Abed Fahd withdraws from participating in the movie “The Interest” . After discussing it with director Sandra Nashaat he realized that his assumed role in the movie will not add anything to his acting career or his personal development. Abed was originally meant to play the role of a drug dealer and had asked for some changes in his role which in turn required major changes in the script. Apparently the cast and crew were running out of time and were unable to perform all these changes. Abed’s intention was to make the connection between drug dealing and politics, and how the politicians employ drugs as a means to subservient its people. They use it to create chaos and irrationalize people’s thinking and distract them from indulging in politics.Abed said in a statement to “Al Sherook” newspaper that he discovered that the role he is meant to play is trivial and does not achieve an aim, something that will not add to my acting career. He adds that he wanted to develop the role further than that of what was offered in the script but when he realized he cannot do that he withdrew from the movie and director Sandra Nashaat understood his opinion very well and accepted it.
