Director Khaled Youssef stated that his movie “Palm of the Moon” or “Kaf El Amar” did not meet the success expectations in terms of revenue. Khaled adds that his audience let him down in that aspect, although he had released movies in previous years also during the same season but the audience then did not let him down, according to him. However, he does not regret the date he chose to release the movie, because in the end the movie did make revenues that reached up to 3 million Egyptian pounds. In an interview with Tamer Amin on LTB channel, Khaled said that the value of the movie would have been far greater if it was released right before the revolution because in a way the movie does reflect or predict the incidents that took place, and he gave examples of movie such as “Shehata’s shop” or “Dokan Shehata” and “What a Chaos” or “Heya Fawda”.Currently Khaled Youssef is preparing for a new series. It is a story for Youssef Idrees called “Sero El Batee” depicting the revolution made by Egyptians in the face of the French occupation, comparing between past and present and the differences and similarities between both situations.“Palm of the Moon” was written by Naser Abdel Rahman, and starred Wafa Amer , Khaled Saleh,Ghada Abdel Razek and Jumana Mourad.
