“Asmaa” and “Palm of the Moon” competing in The Algerian Wahran Film Festival.

After almost a 2 year cultural and artistic boycott with Algerian because of the famous “Om Derman” football match. The January revolution was an instigator and a reason to rejuvenate the ties between both countries.There will be a competition between both Egyptian movies “Asmaa” for director Amr Salama and “Palm of the Moon” for director Khaled Youssef during the Wahran Arabic Film Festival. Nabila Razeek director of the Festival announced that there will be 12 arabic films competing in the festival including the 2 Egyptian movies.The festival will be attended by many Arab cinema celebrities and movie makers as well as production companies to discuss the current situation of the cinema in the Middle East and Arab world in general. There will also be an ample of press conferences involving the people involved in making the movies in the festival. The festival stars on the 15th of December and continues until the 22nd of that same month. The winning movie will receive the “Golden Wahr”.
