Tomorrow: Appeal verdict against Adel Emam

After the receiving a sentence of 3 months of jail time and 1000 LE fine and appealing against it, actor Adel Emam will come to know the verdict in his case tomorrow. A lawyer tied to Islamist group filed a case against the comedian accusing him of contempt of religions in his films which lead to the above verdict.The Union of Cinematographers declared its solidarity with Emam not as an important and great actor but for the prejudice against expression of speech, art and creativity. The Union stated that they will not allow anyone to restrain the liberty of art and they will do their utmost to stand against them. They also announced that a large number of its members will be at the court tomorrow to support Emam and condemn the humiliation of an actor who is an idol to many.
