Hollywood star Brad Pitt attended today the press conference for his film "Killing them softly" participating in the official competition of Cannes Film Festival. In attendance also were Director Andrew Dominik, stars Ray Liotta, Scoot McNairy and Ben Mendelsohn. Dominik talked about the novel he based his film on "Cogan's trade" by George V. Higgins, assuring that the accuracy with which the author described his characters and the world of crime was so true that urged him to turn it to a film at once.He added that his film is a little violent in order to portray the crisis in the world of crime accurately; however, he tried as much as possible to tone down the violence in the film to make as viewer friendly as possible.Brad Pitt talked about Cogan's character that he plays in the film. He said that Cogan likes to kill people softly in order not to make them feel so much pain, regardless of the necessity of the murder. Brad made sure to let us know that he doesn't agree with the character's views in real life.
