camera met with Dr. Sayed Khattab, head of official board of artistic censorship, who spoke about Eid films, Ramadan series and his dispute with Mohsen El Gallad.Khattab first spoke about the four films of Eid El Fitr; "Teta Rahiba", "Papa", "Mr & Mrs Eweiss" and "Al Bar". He said that there were no remarks about any film except "Al Bar" which was rated "For Adults Only" which is considered a preliminary step of the new censorship system to be followed in the near future in rating films.Ramadan drama directors were complimented by Khattab were he said that Egypt is witnessing a huge awakening in the technical field. Also, he commented on some of the language used in the some of them that they didn't require any deletion since they were legal. On the other hand; Khattab said that the censorship board authorized 600 films this year and spoke about the reasons to ban other films like "Taht Al Neqab – Under the Veil". He also spoke about the dispute with script writer Mohsen Al Gallad and the reasons behind banning his drama "Al Mazraa". Khattab spoke about his understanding of restricted freedom and his plans to re-create the censorship board and developing it and ended his conversation talking about the future of this board and his willingness to create a relationship between it and between the society and the filmmakers.
