“Al Qot” Gets Farouk El Feshawi Back to Cinema after Six Year Absence

The movie star Farouk El Feshawi finishes shooting his part in the new movie “Al Qot” (The Cat) in seven days. The movie is the first independent project for the great star. He's collaborating with director Ibrahim El Batout for the first time, starring with Amr Waked and Salah Elhanafi.

The director Ibrahim El Batout revealed in an exclusive statement to that the movie is scheduled to participate in “El Garsh” movie festival among other upcoming movie festivals.The movie revolves around the world of crime in Egypt. Most of it was filmed between Cairo and Alexandria.

The Palestinian artist Mohamed El Bakry was supposed to take the leading role in the movie but he apologized in the last moment due to his inability to get to Egypt using his Palestinian passport before the scheduled filming time. Afterwards Farouk El Feshawi was chosen for the role.

It is noteworthy that “Alwan El Sama El Sabaa” (The Seven Colors of Heaven) which was released in 2007 with Layla Alwi and directed by Saad Hendawywas El Feshawi's last cinema role. The film screened at a range of movie festivals, most recently Cairo International Film Festival.
