Actress Sherine expressed her deep regret and sorrow over the murder of 25 soldiers who were "martyred" in Rafah this week. They were murdered in a retaliatory attack from Islamist gunmen for the death of 36 Brotherhood prisoners during a transfer to a prison in northern Cairo on Monday. She wished the families of the martyrs patience and God's grace, and also pointed out that the terrorist groups who carried out these murders are traitors of the country who have no faith or mercy.

In her exclusive statement to , she said the killings were carried out against innocent soldiers, who only offered their service to the military to defend this country. Echoing a common sentiment, she also added that these actions were expected from the Muslim Brotherhood. The group went into panic mode following their sudden loss of power when Mohamed Morsi was ousted on July 3, and vowed to carry out criminal plots. The evidence of this, Sherine says, is caught on video of Ikhwan leaders making clear threats.

Sherine stressed that Egypt is a guarded country (balad mahrousa) and that no one can reach the point of causing it harm. She also said we would bring about justice for all those who have died on this land, and that Egypt will triumph over all the terrorists.
