MTV's 2013 Music Video Awards happened (this is the only appropriate verb) at Brooklyn's Barclays Center this Sunday, and while most coverage of the ceremony has focused on dissecting the link of Miley Cyrus' twerking, we're going to chose to focus on the much anticipated reunion of the 1990s boy band *NSYNC, from which Justin Timberlake emerged.

Timberlake dominated the awards ceremony, taking home four of his six nominations. In addition to winning Video of the Year for "Mirrors," Timberlake was honored with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.

He performed for a total of 16 minutes: a crowd-pleasing medley of his solo career hits bled spectacularly into the much hyped *NSYNC reunion. They performed "Bye, Bye, Bye" and "Girlfriend," reviving the super coordinated, decade-old dance moves made famous by their music videos. It's the group's first time appearing and performing together in over a decade, much to the delight of nostalgic '90s kids who grew up around their music.

Admittedly, Justin Timberlake wasn't the only recipient of accolades at the ceremony. Taylor Swift won Best Female Video for "I Knew You Were Trouble." Selena Gomez won Best Pop Video for "Come and Get It." In a new category, Macklemore won Best Video with a Social Message for "Same Love," promoting acceptance of same-sex relationships. The breakout hip-hop artist also won in two other categories.
