Lionsgate has announced that Julianne Moore has been cast as Alma Coin, president of District 13 and the woman helming the rebellion against the Capitol, in “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay,” the last installment(s) in the wildly popular teen dystopian franchise.

Moore will appear in both parts of "Mockingjay," the two films respectively to come out in November 2014 and November 2015.

Katniss, our subservise heroine played by Jennifer Lawrence, describes Coin in the book as follows: "She’s fifty or so, with gray hair that falls in an unbroken sheet to her shoulders. I’m somewhat fascinated by her hair, since it’s so uniform, so without a fall, a wisp, even a split end. Her eyes are gray, but not like those of people from the Seam. They’re very pale, as if almost all the color has been sucked out of them. The color of slush that you wish would melt away."

"The Hunger Games" series is based on the bestselling novels by Suzanne Collins. They've helped catapult the careers of Oscar-winner Jennifer Lawrence (her charm may have helped too) and the beefy Aussie Liam Hemsworth, both 23.
