Woody Allen to receive Cecil B DeMille award at Golden Globes

Golden Globe organizers announced that prolific filmmaker Woody Allen is to receive a Cecil B DeMille honor at their next award ceremony, which is one of the most prestigious awards given to Hollywood artists.

Hollywood Foreign Press Association President Theo Kingma said on Sunday that "there is no one more worthy" of the Cecil B DeMille award, adding that he considers Allen an “international treasure,” because of his great impact on world cinema.

The Cecil B DeMille award list of recipients include Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorsese, and Robert De Niro. Jodie Foster was the latest recipient, in the last award ceremony earlier this year.Woody, who made more than 45 films, is awaiting to be honored in the next ceremony, which will take place early 2014. Allen's latest film Blue Jasmine was released in American theaters on the 23rd of last August.
