The producers of the upcoming television series Maryam, which stars Haifa Wahby, have decided to use the effort of a second director Kamal Mansour, to work as a complementary second unit to the series' primary director Mohamed Ali, in order to speed up the production process. Some scenes have already been shot using this additional unit.

The second unit's main goal is to shoot all of the exterior scenes that use real locations, which is a very exhausting process that demands a lot of time and effort. Director Mohamed Ali previously decided on a realistic production design that does not use any built sets.

The assistant director's team has been split to two units accordingly, and shooting schedules have been set to accommodate the amendments made to the crew.

Maryam was written by Ayman Salama, and stars Khaled El Nabawy, Hassan Hosny, Riham Abdel Ghafour and Omar El Said.
