Rashad is sentenced to life imprisonment with hard labor for a murder committed by his colleague Salem. He asks his wife to tell their son Hamada that he died in order to spare him the humiliation. As Hamada grows up and works as a bus conductor, he meets Salma, Salem's daughter.
