At the age of eleven, Fouad Al Bari loses both his parents in the 1967 War, whereupon he goes to live with a kind old man in a Palestinian refugee camp near Gaza. The child is shocked by scenes of the Israeli forces' attacks on the camp, as well as the raids, persecution, and demolition of homes, so he decides to join the Arab forces that are resisting the occupation.
