Kamal is a young leftist who loves Najat and works with her at the airport. He gets arrested, even though he has cut ties with the leftist groups. He suffers in prison in order to confess his former colleagues' names and spends twenty years there between a mock trial. When he is released, he writes a book about his comrades.
