As the playboy Mizo chases skirts, Safinaz quarrels with another girl over him. Mizo makes a bet with his friends to ask the ugly girl, Nafisa, for money, but Nafisa mistakenly thinks that he wants to propose to her.

Nafisa beats Mizo when she realizes the truth about what he wants. As Mizo's factory burns down, he discovers that he has gone bankrupt, while owing 60 thousand pounds in taxes, in addition to another sum of money for his suppliers. Mizo's aunt, Enayat, refuses to give him any money.

Mizo seeks a reprieve from his dilemma by wedding Safinaz, but her father rejects him for being a failure. Safinaz's father vows to write Safinaz out of the will if she weds Mizo. When Enayat reveals to Mizo that Nafisa is a wealthy heiress, he starts to ingratiate himself to the latter.

Mizo avoids Safinaz who vows revenge on him if he thinks to abandon her. Nafisa confides in Mizo about every minute detail of her life and tells him that the lawyer, Baligh, is in charge of everything related to her inheritance. Baligh advises Nafisa to be cautious with the often-deceitful men.

When Mizo asks to wed Nafisa within a week, the distressed Baligh asks her not to make haste, which angers Mizo. Enayat invites Mizo over while Nafisa is visiting her.

Enayat forces Mizo to sell her his land. Baligh orders the staff at Nafisa's villa to monitor Mizo and report what is happening to him. Mizo continues to evade Safinaz. Baligh confesses his love for Nafisa. Mizo gets an anonymous call, telling him that his death will be the price of wedding Nafisa.

Nafisa is saddened by the rising tension between Mizo and Baligh. With designs to seize Nafisa's money for his own, Baligh offers Mizo money to leave Nafisa. Baligh informs Safinaz about the nature of Mizo and Nafisa's relationship and their plans to wed.

When Safinaz visits Nafisa and claims to be Mizo's wife, Mizo manages to convince Safinaz that he is marrying Nafisa for her money, so that he and Safinaz can get married. Safinaz forces Mizo to sign a pledge to divorce Nafisa once he gets her money.

Prior to the wedding, Baligh forces Mizo to grant Nafisa the right to dissolve their marriage. When Mizo finds difficulty in taking advantage of Nafisa's money, he is forced to borrow money from Enayat and sign promissory notes.

Nafisa decides to pay off Mizo's debt to Enayat. As she discovers the truth about Mizo's recklessness, she rejects Baligh's suggestion of a divorce. Enayat convinces Nafisa to get a makeover to entice Mizo. Sultan hires a thug to kill Nafisa to help Mizo get her money as inheritance.

Mizo is shocked by Nafisa's makeover and finds himself saddened that she has changed. As he confesses his love for her, she reveals that she knows about his relationship with Safinaz. Mizo refuses to accept any money from Nafisa and leaves the house. Sultan sets a date for the thug to kill Nafisa.

As Mizo reconsiders his decision to leave Nafisa, he decides to cut off ties with Safinaz and Sultan. As Mizo foils the murder attempt, Nafisa puts him in charge of her fortune. Baligh asks Mizo for money to resign from his job.

Baligh steals all of Nafisa's money. Enayat reveals to Mizo that she gave up all her fortune to orphans. Mizo starts working as a private tutor. As Nafisa and Mizo grow close, she reveals that she is the one who withdrew all the money from her accounts to test Mizo's honesty.
