Ahmed, a young man from a hamlet in Upper Egypt, prepares to wed his sweetheart Zeina, unaware that his friend Rawas also loves her. Rawas demolishes Ahmed's house, and Ahmed flees into the mountains. On the night of Zeina and Rawas's wedding, Ahmed kidnaps her to take revenge.
