Fouad is a happily married, successful merchant. However, he begins having doubts when his friend tries to seduce his wife, so he divorces her and goes to live in Basra. However, he fails at work because he becomes an alcoholic, so he searches for a job in India. Meanwhile, the wife goes through hard times and tries to kill her husband's friend.
