As Obeid bids farewell to his mother, he travels with his older brother to Egypt, where he meets his colleague Faten, whom he hopes to marry. As Abdeen holds a religious ceremony for the dervishes in the area, Firdous asks him to help with the celebration through donation, but Talha refuses.

When Faten's mother scolds her daughter for meeting with Obeid, he comes to ask for her hand in marriage. Talha refuses the food that Firdous brings him because he believes that she's still working as a dancer. Abdeen is thrilled by Gamal Abdel Nasser’s decision to release the political youth.

Abdeen stipulates that Obeid's family come to ask for Faten's hand in order to give his approval. Abdeen is surprised by the request of Master Sha'aban to ask for Faten's hand for his son Isma'il.

As Abdeen holds the engagement ceremony of his daughter and Obeid, Isma'il is upset about the matter. Bahr tells his mother of Obeid’s wish to waive his right to his inheritance in exchange for their agreement to marry Faten. Talha tells Abdeen that he wants to move away from the dervish and marry Firdous.

Obeid is forced to break off his engagement to Faten after his brother Bahr reveals to him his mother's true financial situation. Faten and Abdeen are shocked by the decision.

Abdeen plans with Sha'aban to keep Firdous away from his brother Talha, who continues to ask Abdeen to help him marry her. Firdous reveals to Obeid that Bahr wanted to marry her previously and that he's married to the dancer Bata'a.

As Bahr reveals to his brother that he had to marry Bata'a in secret, he informs him of his approval of his marriage to Faten, but in his hometown; Obeid marries Faten in secret. Isma'il asks his mother to get him engaged to Faten. Talha warns Master Sha'aban to stay away from Firdous.

As Obeid returns to Faten, he buys a new apartment to reside in. When Umm Obeid (Obeid's mother) finds out, she decides to go to Egypt to meet them. Faten is surprised when Isma'il asks for her hand.

As Bahr decides to marry his driver off to one of the dancers when he learns of his love for her, his mother insists on going to Cairo to prevent Obeid's marriage from Faten. Faten informs Isma'il that she and Obeid are back together and that they set a date for the wedding.

As Abdeen prepares the marital home for his daughter, Faten, Talha helps him with the money. Umm Obeid arrives in Egypt and asks Bahr to search for Faten's house. The wedding ceremony of Faten and Obeid takes place.

As Abdeen holds a big wedding for Faten and Obeid, he's surprised when Bahr comes to the neighborhood without attending the wedding. Abdeen learns from Firdous about her previous relationship with Bahr.

As Talha kills Sha'aban on his wedding day to Firdous, Abdeen insists on kicking her out from the neighborhood. Abdeen sells the house to hire a lawyer to defend his brother.

Abdeen offers his condolences to Isma'il for his father's death. Firdous marries Nasr in the new villa. Talha is sentenced to life imprisonment after he confesses to killing Sha'aban. Faten gives birth to her first daughter. Umm Kulthum tells her mother that she can't have children.

Faten asks Obeid to either transfer his work or have her travel with him. As Firdous returns to the neighborhood again, she asks Isma'il for forgiveness and gives him the villa; she asks Al-Hawaty for a divorce.

As Firdous asks Talha to forgive her, she informs him of her divorce from Nasr. Obeid tells Faten that she needs to quit her job and take care of their daughter after he's drafted into the army. As Umm Obeid visits Faten and gets to know her granddaughter, she asks Faten to stay with her in the mansion.

Upon Obeid's request, Faten leaves her job to take care of her home and child. Abdeen continues to struggle after Talha's imprisonment. Umm Kulthum is still grieving over her inability to get pregnant.

Umm Kulthum tells her husband that she's pregnant after a long period of infertility. Obeid travels as tensions rise on the front lines against Israel. Umm Obeid decides to live in Cairo next to her granddaughter.

As President Abdel Nasser announces his resignation from the presidency due to the setback in 1967, the people rush to the streets to demand his reinstatement. As Umm Kulthum is taken to the hospital, her husband discovers that her pregnancy is false. Abdeen is shocked by what happened in Sinai.

As Bata'a tells Bahr that she is pregnant, she asks him to officially marry her. As Obeid is taken to the hospital in a critical condition after his return from the war, he is asked to tell his wife Faten what happened to him.

As Obeid's condition worsens, he dies, and everyone is shocked by his death. Umm Obeid asks Faten to either leave her granddaughter to live with her or to come with her and her daughter to live in the mansion. Bahr decides not to give Faten her share in her husband's inheritance.

Bahr asks Mutawa to kill Faten and her daughter, in exchange for giving him her inheritance from the money of the Al-Abidah family and marrying him to Nazly. As Umm Obeid asks Faten to escape, Mutawa refuses to kill her. Umm Obeid asks him about the fate of Faten and her daughter.

As Faten returns to her father's house to escape from Bahr, she decides to live in her apartment in Desouk. As the years pass, Faten's daughter, Kenouz, becomes a doctor and is appointed in Luxor, her father's hometown, as she decides to claim her rights.
