With only two years left for him to graduate, Fouad wants to turn his attention to work. Eissa keeps his work problems from his family, but eventually confides in his wife that he got fired. When Fouad learns about Eissa's firing, their poverty leaves him frustrated.

When Fouad is introduced to Shukry who invites him over, he returns home late. Fouad's mother grows angry with his new tendency to stay out late. Eissa unsuccessfully tries to find a new job.

When Fouad confides in Lamgad about his financial situation, the latter offers him a job. Fouad's father enlists the help of his friend Othman to find a job. Fouad's grandmother visits her daughter and gives her money.

As Eissa starts working as a waiter, Fouad gets angry as his father's job leaves him ashamed. Lamgad invites Fouad over to console him, only for the latter to go home late. Both Fouad's mother and Lamgad's get angry with their respective sons for their behavior.

Lamgad meets Fouad's girlfriend, Shahinaz, and confesses his feelings for her, revealing that Fouad has become an alcoholic and claiming that he is badmouthing her. Othman accuses Eissa of being a thief and fires him. As Shahinaz cuts off ties with Fouad, Lamgad decides to get him to sell drugs.

As Fouad's mother waits for him, he goes out to meet Lamgad and gets drunk. Fouad's father quarrels with him and slaps him when he returns home drunk. As the furious Fouad leaves the house, Eissa suffers a heart attack.

Jamila's mother tries to console her in the wake of her husband's illness. Fouad tells Lamgad and his friend about what happened to his father. As Kamal goes to visit Eissa at the hospital, he learns that he is in the ICU.

Fouad begs his mother for forgiveness, but his sister Amina remains dissatisfied with how he is acting. As Fouad continues drinking, Lamgad's friend tells him that he hates Fouad.

Fouad goes to visit his father at the hospital. Eissa is released from the hospital. Amina catches feelings for Lamgad. Jamila tries to find a job as a domestic helper.

As Lamagd visits Fouad's family, they all gather around Eissa. Jamila starts working as a maid to cover the expenses. As Lamgad quarrels with Shahinaz, he asks her to get out of the car, leaving her to vow revenge.

Fouad starts working with Lamgad after providing all the necessary documents. As he stops going to college, Amina asks his friend to tell her about what Fouad is doing. Lamgad's mother quarrels with the Hajj as he refuses to take his medicine.

Lamgad asks his mother to visit Eissa and get to know Amina, whom he wants to marry. As Amina confides in her sister, Souad, about her relationship with Lamgad, their mother remains ignorant about it as she continues to work as a maid.

Amina's parents rejoice when Lamgad proposes to her. Lamgad decides to gift Amina a clothes factory when they get married. As Soliman's health deteriorates after missing his son's engagement, the maid calls the doctor, who reveals that Soliman needs better care.

With his mother disapproving of Amina and her poor family, Lamgad tells his mother that he will get a separate apartment. As he shares with his mother that he has another goal in marrying Amina, Soliman eavesdrops on their conversation. Jamila goes into her employer's room behind her back and uses her perfume.

Lamgad takes Amina shopping and buys her whatever she likes. Amina's mother takes the day off to prepare for her daughter's engagement. As Lamgad brings his mother to his engagement party, she resents her humble surroundings and the poverty of Amina's family. Eissa improves and manages to leave his wheelchair.

As Amina gets married, she is shocked to realize that Lamgad always comes home drunk. As he starts beating her, his mother turns a blind eye to what is happening. Eissa regains the ability to walk, much to Jamila's joy.

Amina rejoices when she visits her family and sees her father walking, but she hides her suffering with Lamgad. As Jamila quarrels with her employer and quits, she goes to visit her daughter, only for Lamgad's mother to receive her coolly.

Lamgad's mother quarrels with Jamila and accuses her of insulting her. Jamila tells Eissa that Amina must be suffering in that house. When Lamgad's mother tells him that Jamila insulted her, he beats Amina and tells her to forget about her family. The police chase Fouad's car, but he manages to escape.

When Amina is admitted to a mental hospital, her brother Fouad goes to Lamgad's house and threatens his mother, spying on Lamgad's men to figure out what cargo they are transporting in the car.

The kingpin holds Lamgad and tortures him after the latter's friend betrays him. Jamila visits her daughter in the hospital. When Fouad gets imprisoned, his mother enlists the help of her brother, Kamal.

Soliman leaves his sick bed and confronts his wife, revealing that he has been faking his illness and accusing her of betrayal. Eissa learns that his son was imprisoned. Amina remains in the hospital as her mother goes to check on her.

The policewoman interrogates Fouad and shows him pictures of drug dealers, whom he identifies. As he tells her everything he knows, he gets released. The gang kills Lamgad. Amina is released from the hospital.

Lamgad's mother goes to Amina's house to ask her and her mother for forgiveness. Soliman befriends Eissa. Fouad's friend, Halim, proposes to Shahinaz. Amina decides to return to her work as a seamstress.
