Samira, the wife of the journalist Wa'el, struggles with his constant preoccupation with other things. Wa'el refuses Jihad's advice to take another job. Officer Fadel moves into the neighborhood with his bride. Saber tries to marry off his brother Bassam so that he could give up on his dream to emigrate.

Samira complains to her father about Wa'el and confronts him about her siblings' lack of care about them. Samira's father meets up with Wa'el and offers him some advice. Abu As'ad admonishes his wife over her bearing only girls. Abu As'ad's daughter, Marwa, looks for a job.

As he sneaks a peek at his neighbor, Wa'el's son Raja finds Aboud's merchandise on their rooftop. When Samira speaks to Wa'el about their son's exposure to unsavory magazines, he asks her to be prudent while dealing with him. Marwa starts working in Maher's shop.

Abu As'ad quarrels with Marwa over her tardiness at work. When Samira's family faces financial difficulty, her father helps her out. Bassam looks into the conditions of immigration. Wa'el meets Marwa. Maher's wife quarrels with him over his employment of Marwa. Wa'el agrees to write articles for Jihad.

Marwa reveals to Wa'el that Raja has bought narcotics for Ghalis and admonishes him for lying. Samira decides to leave Wa'el due to her refusal to stay in the neighborhood, but her father talks sense into her.

Reham incites Maher against Samira out of fear that the latter will take money from Maher. Basema visits Maher's shop. Wa'el gets close to Aboud, only to discover that he is an illegitimate child. Saber pursues As'ad's daughter, Se'da, and confesses her love for her.

In Wa'el's absence, Malek gets run over by a car, leading Samira to call her father for help. The incident turns Samira against Wa'el, leading her to kick him out of the hospital and hold him responsible for what happened.

It's revealed that Malek has gone blind, in addition to having broken bones that require a costly surgery. Fadel beats Saniya after she hosts Raja in their house. Samira asks her father for money and decides to leave Wa'el.

Wa'el tries to get money for Malek's surgery. Maher objects to Samira getting money from their father. Wa'el looks after Raja in Samira's absence. Marwa evades Maher who flirts with her. Aboud promises to help and protect Raja. Bassam leaves the country.

When Maher welcomes Basema's visits to his shop, Marwan warns her about his manipulation. When Wa'el consults a doctor about Malek's condition, he advises against having surgery for now. Saber avoids Abu As'ad whose teenage daughter Hend is pursuing Saber.

Raja helps Aboud with technology. Marwa offers to help Wa'el. Basema gets close to Zahira, who lures her into working as an escort. Despite objections from her siblings, Samira and Malek move into the house of the former's father. Wa'el advises Saber to tell Abu As'ad about Hend's pursuits.

Basema rejoices in the money she gets after going with Zahira to the nightclub. Raja gets close to Saniya and learns about Fadel's mistreatment. Raja and Malek struggle to deal with the separation of their parents. Maher gets a lot of gifts for Marwa. Raja tries to return to Wa'el's house.

Maher gives Marwa a raise, but his wife grows suspicious after they frequently meet at a restaurant. Samira quarrels with Wa'el after Raja runs away to the neighborhood. It's revealed that Aboud is involved in illegal business. Saber warns Aboud against implicating Raja in his business.

Wa'el takes Raja back to Samira and quarrels with her siblings when they incite him against her. Tension rises between Samira and Raja. Maher confesses his feelings for Marwa. Wa'el refuses to let Abu Maher (Maher's father) buy him a house. Abu Maher is shocked when his sons buy another shop behind his back.

As Wa'el refuses to accept his father-in-law's financial help, he warns Samira against taking unilateral decisions regarding their sons. Abu Maher confronts his sons about their greed. Bassam returns from his travels. Basema gets in trouble in the nightclub.

As Marwa and Wa'el meet again in the neighborhood, he falls for her. Raja takes Malek to the neighborhood to reminisce about the past. Abu Maher tells Samira about an apartment that he decided to get for her to protect her from her siblings. Basema notices that Hend is trying to visit Saber.

Wa'el warns Marwa about Hend's behavior. Aboud and Wa'el visit the nightclub where Zahira works. Marwa rejects Maher's wish to take their relationship to the next level. Raja runs away from home after a fight with Samira. Aboud saves Raja from Fadel after Raja goes snooping on his roof.

Wa'el rebukes Raja for his actions. Samira is saddened that Raja went to stay with Wa'el. Wa'el tries to figure out how to afford Malek's surgery. Shawish threatens to kill Aboud after they quarrel. Hend claims that Saber promised to marry her.

Wa'el confesses his feelings for Marwa. Reham continues to keep an eye on the shop and its finances. Wa'el tells Samira that he wants a divorce. Aboud and Raja have a fight with Shawish and his men.

When Raja runs away from his mother in the street, Wa'el admonishes him for what he did. Reham suspects that Maher is having an affair, while he keeps meeting Marwa in secret. Raja starts working for Aboud. Bassam proposes to Hend.

When Wassim fires Marwa, Maher promises to compensate her as Wa'el comforts her. Samira regrets her hostility with Wa'el, but the latter refuses to go back to her.

Maher promises to buy an apartment for Marwa after she gets a loan for him. Wa'el discovers Basema's presence in the nightclub. Marwa tries to comfort Se'da after Saber reconsiders his proposal. Malek regains his sight.

Bassam discovers that Ghalis made Saber into an addict. Saniya flees out of fear that Fadel will discover that she left the house with Raja. Samira discovers Wa'el and Marwa's relationships. A group of young men beat Raja and break his things.

Maher offers to have an unregistered marriage to Marwa in exchange for a huge dowry. Marwa informs her mother of Hend's behavior. Samira confirms that Marwa has been going to Wa'el's house, but she refuses to agree to a divorce when Wa'el's lawyer contacts her.

Samira keeps up with news about Marwa. Aboud causes a fight at the nightclub as he tries to get Basema out, and stabs Abu Rafiq. Saber visits Abu As'ad's house to ask for Se'da's hand in marriage.

The engagement falls through because of Basema. Marwan enlists Wa'el's help to help Basema. Abu As'ad beats his daughters when he is unable to locate Basema. When she comes back, Fadel intervenes to help Aboud. Zahira asks Abu Rafiq to drop the charges.

Samira asks the lawyer Samir to postpone the divorce lawsuit. Unaware of what happened, Wa'el proposes to Marwa. As Shawish sends him men to kidnap Raja, Fadel interferes to save him. Marwa grows suspicious of Maher's intentions. Zahira notices that Aboud's behavior has changed with her.

Marwa meets Maher at the apartment. After his release, Aboud pursues Basema to marry her. Samira continues to monitor Wa'el. Marwa confesses her secret to Basema. The mother of a new suitor for Basema arrives.

Samira informs Wa'el about Marwa's relationship with Maher. When he confronts Marwa, she tells him that Maher used his money to seduce her. Wa'el orders Marwa to stay away from Maher. Aboud asks for Basema's hand from her father.

Wa'el and Samira reconcile. Samira informs Abu As'ad of Marwan's lies about her job, leading him to beat Marwa, who gets hospitalized as a result. Raja and Saniya suffer a sunstroke after they meet up.

As Marwa's condition stabilizes, Abu As'ad grows repentant and reconciles with her. When Reham discovers that Maher bought an apartment for Marwa, she demands that he writes the apartment over to her. Wa'el confronts Samira about the harm she inadvertently caused Marwa.

Wa'el and Samira reconcile. Shawish kidnaps Raja. When Aboud interferes to save Raja, Shawish kills him, leaving Basema and Raja devastated. It's revealed that Aboud has left a good impression on everyone he ever met.
