Set in the year 2018, it's a time where Skynet devices control the world, and the only chance to save humanity lies in the hands of John Connor, where he accompanies ex-con Marcus Wright and attempts to stop Skynet before the rest of humanity is wiped out.

This picture is an American science fiction action film directed by McG. The film is the fourth installment in the “Terminator” series and stars Christian Bale as John Connor, the “Terminator” franchise’s central character. Sam Worthington plays the role of cyborg Marcus Wright. According to the title’s plot the Skynet system was activated in 2004. Upon its activation, Skynet perceived humanity as a threat to its existence and thus eradicated much of humanity as was depicted at the conclusion of the previous installment in the series: “Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines”. In 2018, John Connor (Christian Bale) leads an attack on a Skynet base. During the assault on the base, Connor discovers what appears to be human prisoners held at the base and the schematics for a new Terminator model that incorporates living tissue. (A nuclear explosion destroys the base and Connor appears to be the only survivor. Nonetheless, cyborg Marcus emerges alive from the wreckage of the base). John Connor reports to the Resistance’s commander, General Ashdown (Michael Ironside) aboard a nuclear submarine. (Soon afterwards, John Connor learns of a Skynet list that includes individuals in the Resistance that Skynet plans to kill off). John Connor’s name is second on the list following a civilian named Kyle Reese (Anton Yelchin). The leaders of the Resistance cannot understand why Reese presents a threat to Skynet. Connor, however, knows that the reason is none other than the fact that Reese is his father.
