Max is a computer engineer who finds himself chased by hit men and the CIA after he receives mysterious messages that that help him win a lot of money at a casino.

Max Peterson (Shane West) is a young and unassuming American computer engineer. He obtains a mobile phone by mail and after activating it he starts receiving strange messages. The messages at first seem unimportant but when they help him avert an incident that would have threatened his life, he starts to take them more seriously. The messages continue and this time they help him win millions at a European casino. Eventually he learns that the source of the messages is the top-secret computer system known as “Echelon”. Echelon is intended to monitor threats to American national security but has now started to run out of control. A Russian agent suggests that Echelon has acquired self awareness and is therefore beyond anyone’s control. Will Max and the others succeed in stopping Echelon before it takes over the world’s computers and gains mastery over the human race?
