Andrei Gorkachov travels to Italy with his interpreter to investigate the life of a Russian composer. The interpreter soon develops a crush on her client, who is overwhelmed with a gnawing sense of homesickness that leaves him with a heavy heart as he ventures into the ruins of the countryside.
