The bonds of a tight-knit family are tested when their eldest son Danny comes home for the 45th anniversary of his parents' hotel in the Florida Keys. Danny's return reopens old wounds that never healed.

As John investigates a murder, Danny saves Robert when the latter has an accident, re-aggravating a childhood shoulder injury. Kevin accuses Danny of hurting Robert.

Meg reveals that Robert wanted Danny taken out of the will. Sally decides to give Danny Robert's duties at the inn. Robert's injury brings up his late daughter Sarah.

Robert is released from the hospital. John and Marco find a burned boat that is connected to their murder case. Robert asks Danny to leave.

As Robert dies, his old cop buddy arrives for the funeral and apologizes to Danny for not helping him when he was a child. John uncovers the disturbing past related to Danny's shoulder injury while looking for evidence for his murder case.

As Sally discovers that Robert has taken Danny out of the will, Danny's anger at his siblings mounts as John uncovers the truth of what happened to Danny as a child.

Kevin agrees to cut Danny back in the will. John and Marco get a new lead in their investigation. Danny sinks deeper into his illegal activity with Eric.

As Kevin recuperates, it's revealed that Danny is the one who arranged the assault on him. John and Marco identify one of the murdered victims. An acquaintance of Danny's is implicated in the murder case.

As Danny's behavior grows more erratic, he comes in conflict with Meg. John investigates Danny's past after he grows suspicious of him. Sally reflects on her past.

As John and Marco close in on Lowry's drug ring, John confronts Danny about his involvement with Lowry, and Danny discovers that the drug ring is responsible for the murdered girls.

Danny reflects on the day Sarah died. Kevin, John, and Meg come up with a plan to save the family business after they discover that Danny hid drugs in the shed. Danny fears for his life when his siblings move the drugs.

With the family's life in danger from Lowry's henchmen, Danny confronts Sally about her always siding with Robert. John and Danny get in a fight that ends with John killing Danny.

As the siblings come together to cover up Danny's murder, Sally reveals that she is the one who got her children to lie about Danny's childhood injury. Potts reveals to Sally that her children are lying to her about Danny's death, as a young man claiming to be Danny's son shows up.
