Set in 295 A.H. Baghdad, A slaver is mad at Al-Hallaj, a mystic poet. Caliph Al-Muktafi Bi-Allah is sick, and Al-Hallaj was asked for help, so he prays to God. The Caliph dies without declaring his will. His stepmother says that he chose her son to be his successor, so the power struggle escalates.

2nd Episode

The fight over governance escalates between Abdullah Bin Al-Moataz and Al-Moatad. Al-Hallaj tells people that knowledge is gem that can’t be inherited but needs hard work. The slaver knows of the death of Al-Muktafi Bi-Allah so he gets furious.

3rd Episode

Al-Hallaj is among the pilgrims, describing to them the pathway to God. Al-Muqtader Bi-Allah succeeds in capturing some of the rebels with the help of the slaver, but Abdullah Ibn Al-Moataz escapes, so the Caliph offers a reward for whoever reports his location.

Al-Hallaj mentions his mother who dreamt that he is going to be a servant of the poor. He agrees on debating Baghdad’s Mufti during the pilgrim trip. Al-Muqtadir Bi-Allah prepares to go out in a parade to greet the people in Al-Adha feast. In the slaver’s house, a odalisque dies from poison.

Bin Al-Mutaz plans to kill the Caliph during Al-Eid prayer. One of Al-Hallaj lovers warns him about debating the Mufti of Baghdad. One of the odalisques tries to kill Eisha. When Al-Muqtader’s parade reaches Baghdad’s center, Bin Al-Mutaz changes his mind and runs, then meets Al-Hallaj.

A conflict happens inside the pilgrim convoy to collect votes for the pledge for the Caliph. Al-Muqtadir's soldiers arrest Ibn Al-Mu'taz. Eisha, the head odalisques is trying not to get herself killed. The minister and Al-Muqtader’s mother want him to approve the execution of Ibn Al-Mu’taz and the rebels.

The detained odalisque escapes on a horse. Al-Muqtader and his mother have an argument after he released the jailed Ibn Al-Mu’taz supporters. The slaver prepares some girls for the Caliph, however one of the mortgages gets lost. One of Mufti Baghdad’s students buys a book by Al-Hallaj.

The Caliph's ministers raid a number of Bin Al-Mutaz’s followers, who were executed by orders of the Caliph’s mother. Al-Hallaj calls out the corruption within rulers and their cabinets, and detested considering everyone who calls for people’s rights as a heretic. Al-Razi’s called to cure the Caliph.

Al-Hallaj gets arrested for his writings and books. His disciples protest around the palace, and the guards demand he dismisses them. The Caliph’s getting better, and Al-Razi advises him to stay away from alcohol. The Caliph reconciles with his mother, then releases Al-Hallaj.

Hizra cries reminiscing her father and his misery with Taleed, when the head odalisques hears them. Al-Hallaj talks to his son about mysticism and finding a path to God is only through repenting. The slaver calls Aba Ali to make new slavery deeds instead of the ones that disappeared.

Al-Hallaj objects to Al-Gunaid holding up a religious session. The head minister requests his redemption, and Aba Umar’s from the mother of the Caliph with money. The Caliph bans alcohol, which infuriates his mother because he didn't consult her. Taleed’s the one hiding The Orphaned Pearl.

Al-Hallaj declares that we all fall into sin, and resumes his father’s work. The bailer abducts the slaver for losing the Pearl. The Mufti of Baghdad declares Al-Hallaj as a heretic, and complains to the supreme judge. The slaver tries to buy his was out, but the bailer rejects his offer.

13th Episode

Al-Hallaj declares that God’s mercy includes all beings, and no one’s heart is empty of faith and obedience. The head odalisques’s searching for her slavery deed to flee. The Caliph likes the new defiant slave, Hizra, and he summons Al-Hallaj before the supreme judge, which saddens his wife and son.

14th Episode

Al-Hallaj calls upon his followers before submitting to the judge, while he gets called out by the Mufti followers, accusing him of atheism. Helana breaks into the slaver’s house and steals the deeds, and finds Eisha tied up, when she begs her for freedom in return of Al- Natl’s money.

Helana frees Eisha along with the other slaves and sets the house on fire. Al-Hallaj’s son’s attacked by the Mufti followers, and Al-Razi rushes to him, while the Judge releases Al-Hallaj. Taleed’s still missing while the Caliph’s disappeared with Hizra.

They’re still captivating Al-Nattl, Saosan, and the rest of the Harem, which enrages Al-Nattl since they’re all his slaves. Taleed appears at Al-Muqtader’s palace, requesting to meet the Caliph’s mother; he gives her the Orphaned Pearl. He’s appointed as chaperon for the Harem. He searches for Hazar.

The Caliph has a violent episode and bashes a girl’s head against the wall, and Hazar tries to hit him with a chalice. Al-Hallaj is scribbling his lectures with his student. Helana torments Al-Nattl. The Caliph’s mother wants to know who burned Al-Nattl’s house. The bailer, Nasr, visits Al-Hallaj.

Nasr tells Al-Hallaj how fond he is of his poems, and wants to attend a lecture. Hazar’s in prison for attempting to hit the Caliph. Al-Nattl wants to meet the Camp’s commander to tell him where the gold’s hidden so they take him out, and he then attacks them and kills both the Commander and Saosan.

Helana and the slaves are put up for sale. Al-Hallaj’s at the Caliph’s court, and everyone stands up when Al-Muqtader comes in except him, and the head odalisque takes him to see Warda to cure her. Al-Hallaj recites Quran and she regains her consciousness.

Hazara warns the Caliph of The Qarmatians, who sent her to kill him. He believes her, sets Warda free, and gives her money. Al-Hallaj defends the Christians celebrating Christmas against some zealots who attacked them. Hirz gives birth to Al-Muqtader’s son, he decides to release Hazara to marry her.

People gather at Al-Hallaj’s to complain about the tax increase. Al-Gunaid dies and he asked to be buried with his manuscripts. Hazara marries Al-Muqtader, and he gives her the Orphaned Pearl as a present, while she fears the Qarmatians will reach her; she meets Taleed who’s now the Harem’s keeper.

The Wazir’s secretary’s led to Daqqa Sadrh house by his odalisque, where he’s threatened to tell him the Caliph’s cabinet updates or he’ll scandalize him. The Caliph’s aunt advises him to get rid of everyone who helped him reach the throne. Zealots attack Al-Hallaj at the market.

While Jahza’s at the market, he helps out the drunken Wazir’s secretary. The Caliph asks Hazara to join his mom and aunt, who he calls the Supreme council. Al-Halaj takes a vow in the desert, to stay away from people. In Baghdad, rumors appear there’s a children-eating monster loose.

Taleed informs the Caliph’s aunt that Hazara and Zeidan are having an affair. Al-Hallaj is accused of being a Qarmatian, so he considers leaving Baghdad. Umm Mousa wants to meet the Cabinet’s head Wazir, while the Caliph’s mother is upset he didn’t pay the army’s salaries.

Hazara tells Zeidan that Khatef’s implying to their relationship, who takes Al-Muqtader to where they meet. Fatema and Alnattl reveal their feelings for each other. Al-Hallaj meets Eisha on his way to his sanctuary in the desert. Daqqa Sadrh succeeds in toppling the minister, Al-Hasan Ibn Al-Furat.

Al-Muqtader’s enraged about the rogue soldiers and calls them mercenaries. Eisha works as a mortician, and Al-Hallaj moves next to her cabin. Fatma finds out what Al-Nattl does to little boys. Zeidan gets her clothes and Hazar’s back from Khatef’s room. Hazar sees Taleed coming out of Hirz’s room.

Alnattl’s associate in kidnapping children strangles Fatema’s driver. Daqqa Sadrh dreams of reaching the Wazirs’ cabinet, which he eventually does. Eisha tells Al-Hallaj about her past. Nasr returns with entertainment to please Al-Muqtader. Alnattl admits everything to Fatema then strangles her.

Alnattl’s arrested. Baghdad’s Mufti turns people against Al-Hallaj, and they stone him, he asks Eisha to tell the Caliph. Al-Muqtader finds out about his brother, Mohamed, whom his mother hid for years, and she tells him about Zeidan & Hazara; Hirz denies knowing anything when he asks her about them.

The Caliph sends his aunt, Khatef, to jail. Al-Hallaj’s imprisoned with Alnattl, and they share stories. Years pass by; Daqqa Sadrh’s removed, and Hazara rules the country; she murders Helana, and she gets killed herself. Al-Nattl escapes, he recites Al-Hallaj’s poems, as he’s sentenced to death.
