Despite finding a hiding place, the children struggle with their new life as runaways. While PRIDE is preparing to kill Jonah, Alex starts working for Darius. Jonah starts a project.

When Molly, Nico, and Karolina attempt to get the Staff of One back, Tina resists. Jonah and Karolina get closer as Alex and Livvie kiss.

Alex is deceived while feeling at ease in Compton and deeply in love with Livvie. As Jonah sends Leslie on a mission to get his DNA back from the Yorkeses, Catherine takes revenge on Darius. After Janet deciphers the Abstract, Molly stealthily leaves to combat crime.

Topher assists the children in breaking into Atlas Academy, but the scheme is foiled when Dale and Stacey set off an earthquake, prompting the parents to come running. As Jonah guides Karolina into the hole, his body keeps disintegrating.

The kids learn that their new friend Topher is more dangerous than they ever could have imagined, upon which they must decide whether to assist or abandon him.

Jonah's most recent offer, freedom, raises ethical questions that PRIDE attempts to address. As Jonah grows weaker, he starts to eye his next victim, and the Runaways understand they must put an end to him before he murders any more children.

As the Runaways are ready to put an end to Jonah, they frantically try to delay Jonah's scheme, but the parents arrive out of nowhere.

Following Jonah's defeat, Karolina looks for information about him, and the others assist Alex and Livvie in their efforts to demonstrate Darius's innocence of Destiny's murder. However, Livvie's inquisitiveness might eventually overtake her.

When the Runaways have to battle Flores and AWOL, PRIDE's corrupt cops, they find themselves in a difficult situation.

Frank has different ideas from Leslie when it comes to destroying the cult she helped found. To confront the Runaways, AWOL uses Livvie as bait. When AWOL's team enters the hostel forcibly, the kids have to defend the ill Gert and Old Lace.

The Runaways are disintegrating; however, a desperate attempt is made to throw Molly a quinceañera. PRIDE focuses on its new toolkit. To help Leslie return to her faith, Frank places her in a facility. Karolina starts to recognize the enigmatic voice she has been hearing.

Chase is dubious, but Victor convinces him to intern at PRIDE to show that they are just worried parents. When Karolina learns that Frank is imprisoning Leslie, she teams up with Nico, Molly, and Vaughn to try and free her mother.

Furious over his treachery, the Runaways confront Chase, and he suggests that they give in to PRIDE or suffer the repercussions. The children are split up and forced to fight a far more dangerous foe than they had anticipated while they try to flee.
