Murad is interrogated following a murder. As Masoud, Sabri, and Bey Lotfi's wife are interrogated, Lotfi is released from prison, but Fawzia refuses to let him into the house. Shamoun talks to intellectuals about the state of the country under British occupation.

As Lotfi lives in a hotel after his wife kicked him out, he goes to Giovanni to borrow money from him. Hassouna's wives try to win his favor with delicious food, but he gets angry with them because of the extravagance.

Mahmoud meets Feryal on the way and she tells him how disappointed she is in him. Mukhtar offers a house to Lotfi and his two sons visit him. Mabrouk is appointed policeman in the area and his wife Haluma congratulates him. Shamoun refuses to lend Lotfi money.

Attia tries to convince the men not to celebrate in the city's cafe so that the British occupation does not think they are satisfied with the state of their country. Shamoun asks his son to pay attention to himself and tells him that people do not trust him because he is Jewish.

Miftah promises Mahmoud to try to reconcile him and Murad. After the warehouse is burned, the occupation police investigate the matter and threaten the people of the area, while Lotfi discovers a box hidden in the wall and extracts it.

Lotfi finds the box full of jewelry. Marco recruits Selim and Sabri to spy on the residents in exchange for money. A public auction opens for a plot of land that Shamoun wants to buy because of the presence of the synagogue there.

The soldiers search Attia's shop for saws, but they find nothing. Lotfi opens an office after purchasing the plot of land and asks Sabri to work for him. Hassouna's wives, Khaira and Jodiya, claim that there is a genie in the house, so he brings an old man to expel it.

Shamoun is interrogated on charges of seizing Lotfi's land and building a synagogue on it. It is ordered that he return it to its owner and pay him compensation to him. Hassouna is happy that Khaira is pregnant. Giovanni wants to get closer to Lotfi due to their similar interests.

Mansour asks for Feryal's hand, and Lotfi agrees with difficulty. Lotfi decides to set up a school to teach women sewing to establish a spinning factory, much to Giovanni's jealousy. Marco asks Sabri to spy on what is happening in Lotfi's office.

Attia is sentenced to five years in prison; the activists train for armed resistance; the family and neighbors rejoice at the wedding of Feryal and Mansour; Lotfi asks for Lucia's hand in marriage.

Lotfi decides to demolish the synagogue built on his land and build a house for his son in its place, amidst the anger of the Jewish community. He resorts to the police and decides to sell the textile products prepared by the women.

Shaaban works as an informant for Marco; Shamoun and the rest of the Jews are angry about the demolition of their synagogue; Lotfi is shot after leaving the mosque by a masked man.

Lotfi is hit by a bullet and taken to the hospital. The people of the area visit him, while Shamoun asks him to sign a document whereby he waives the demolition of the synagogue in order to protect his life.

Lotfi returns Tabraro from Rome to Libya, and Shamoun and the rest of the Jews prepare to travel to Israel in accordance with the advice of the officer who informed him of the imminent liberation of the country from English colonialism. Lucia agrees to marry Lotfi after she converts to Islam.

Lotfi suffers a stroke during the pronouncement of his prison sentence, and the room in which he was living is rented. The tenant finds the jewelry box and hands it over to the police. Fawzia registers her properties in the names of Feryal and Murad and travels, and Shamoun and his group return to Israel.
