Hassan Ramzy is the son of Ismail Pasha Ramzy, the former director of the Assiut Directorate and Minister of Awqaf. Ramzy graduated from the Faculty of Engineering in 1935 at the age of 23. He held several governmental positions until he resigned in 1958 at the age of 46 to devote himself to his first passion: cinema. He became the first president of the Egyptian Film Industry Chamber, and he held this position until his death on February 19, 1977. In addition, he established El Nasr Film Company for Cinema Production, through which he produced 30 films. Ramzy also acted, but in minor roles, as in the movie Storm on the Countryside (1941). He wrote and directed films as well, such as Body and Passion, and The White Dress.
