An Egyptian director, born in 1936. He graduated from the School of Applied Arts, textile department in 1954. He began his career as an assistant director from 1958 to 1980 with a number of directors, including Hassan Al-Imam, Ezzedine Zulfiqar, and Salah Abu Seif. He is known for El-Darb El-Ahmar (1980), which he also wrote, and the Iraqi film Our Green Land (1981).
