An Egyptian writer, critic, and thinker born in Tanta in 1940. He obtained a BA of Arts from the Faculty of Arts, Cairo University, Department of English Literature. He obtained a Ph.D. from Lancaster University in England. He assumed many posts, including an advisor to the late President, Muhammad Anwar El-Sadat from 1975 to 1981. He is known for Snakes Passion (1988) and Spider's Web (1985).
