He was an Egyptian director, film editor, and writer, who was born in 1908. He studied film directing at the International Film College in Paris in 1933 and began his career as a director of documentary films. Then, he became an editor for a number of films, including: Something Out of Nothing (1938), and Life of Darkness (1940). After which he turned to writing and directing feature films, including Charming Flowers (1952), and Aisha (1953). He died in 1982, at age 72.
