He landed his first major roles in the early 1960s in films like The Pirates of Blood River, The Two...Read more Faces of Dr. Jekyll, and Night Creatures. He was very successful playing Athos in three films adapted from novels by Alexandre Dumas. He was also known for his roles in Oliver!, The Adventures of Baron Munchausen, and Gladiator. He died of a heart attack in 1999, at age 61.
