Syrian writer, born in Deir Atiyah on 13 November 1941. He received his education there and graduated from high school in 1961. He holds a BA in Philosophy and Social Sciences from Damascus University. In 1971, he worked as a teacher, and the director of the Rural Recovery Center, and a journalist in the Tishreen newspaper. He wrote in politics and society, as well as short stories and children's literature. He is a member of the Society of Story and Novel. He is the editor-in-chief of "Literary Week" newspaper, published by the Union of Arab Writers.
